Colleen loves nothing more than translating an idea into results. Facilitating people and an environment that leads to great work is her mission. She does this by making the line between management, clients and employees appear to be very fluid. After working in banking for many years, Colleen has embraced being a partner in the company and helping the technology experts maintain a balance in their work life. You might just as well find Colleen briefing the team on a new office policy as ordering pizza for an impromptu lunch party. And speaking of loving results, for Colleen that includes getting the best from her biggest works in progress: her husband, three kids and dog.

Mike Whitty

Product Manager

With over 15 years of experience at all levels of the software lifecycle, Mike has a solid track record when it comes to application design and implementation. He also has a reputation for developing and implementing strategies that deliver for the customer. Mike is an energetic leader, known for challenging his teams to deliver. This enthusiasm has served him well as he has worked his way through various roles at Garvin-Allen. He is also well known for his patience which has come in handy through the many waits in airports around the world as he travels to meet with clients. At home, Mike likes to go camping with his family and watch all sports except soccer.

Richard O'Neil

Team Lead, Development

Richard O'Neil loves to share his knowledge. A passionate programmer, he has spent most of his career helping others learn how to create and get the best out of technology. Although he began his career developing software applications that allowed companies to better track information, he soon went off to share his skills with new developers. Richard later joined Garvin-Allen Solutions where he became responsible for the designing and implementing of various components of their signature product. Now he leads the development team and is again acting as mentor and teacher. When not at work, Richard enjoys spending time with his wife, kids, dog and two cats.

Mohammed El-Awini

Software Developer

Since 2007, Mohammed has been applying his talents as a software developer at Garvin-Allen. With his computer engineering degree, he has a great ability to absorb new technologies and apply them to whatever project he is working on. His excellence has inspired co-team members to work together to develop the best software solutions for our clients. Mohammed is a leader in problem-solving, making him a key member of the Garvin-Allen software development group. He enjoys soccer and basketball and considers the New England Patriots his favourite team.

James Glennie

Team Lead, Development

For the past 11 years, James has been working his magic at Garvin-Allen. He started on a work-term that quickly highlighted his talents as a developer. Since the very beginning James has focused on solutions – be they technical or customer service-based. Over the years, James has worked with clients both on-site and remotely to ensure their issues and questions are resolved quickly, efficiently and creatively. He says that he is happiest when he sees first-hand how his work has positively impacted clients.One of James' biggest responsibilities today is to lead the team as they continue to provide excellence in insurance technology. When not at work, James can be found playing guitar or enjoying the great outdoors.

Alain Lefebvre

Research and Development

From initial involvement of the strategy, the creation of the plan and the execution of the work, Alain's role is to lead the various teams to a superior product. Alain's input and collaboration has lead to some of the best tools and resources for clients. With 20 plus years of experience in the business, what drives him is his passion for innovative solutions and the ability to pinpoint what the customer needs. Blessed with a wicked sense of humour, he is also credited with keeping the office on its toes. Alain is married with three kids who say they are glad he gets most of his jokes out of his system at the office.

Ken MacDonald

Director, Delivery

Since 2007, Ken has been the Director of Delivery at Garvin-Allen Solutions. His main focus is to exceed customer expectations. He inspires his team and builds client relationships that foster growth and innovation, grounded in results. Ken brings over ten years of experience as a leader to the organization. After spending several years combining his love of sports and technology, he now applies his competitive bent to ensuring excellence for all his clients and products. Ken spends his off-hours coaching his kids and not playing the clarinet.

President

When Rob isn't creating a new product or imagining the next level of technology that needs to be developed, he's inspiring others to do so. With over 20 years in the business, Rob continues to instill a passion and drive for technology, programming and customer service within his company. Rob brings an "anything can be done" attitude to the work and believes that creativity and ingenuity can solve just about anything. Rob also thinks that everyone needs to take the time to have fun – that's why he's always building new basketball nets or buying the latest WII game for the office. Employees suggest if he applied that much dedication to his jump shot then they would be in business.

Sherri Blandford

Team Lead, Development

Sherri joined Garvin-Allen as a team leader a few years ago. She has a natural curiosity that drives her to dig deeper and come up with real solutions for long-term success. Her professional skills have been honed while she has worked her way through a variety of positions in the organization. Her focus, through it all, has always been customer value-driven. Sherri is the proud mother of a little princess who loves to host tea parties. Her favourite place is Newfoundland where she can indulge in the ocean and her favourite pastime of cooking.

Irfan Saranghi

Software Developer

Irfan joined Garvin-Allen in early 2011. He has a Masters Degree from Dalhousie University and Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from Hamdard Institute of Information technology in Karachi, Pakistan. Irfan has experience in analyzing, designing and developing software systems which gives him a unique perspective.
As one of the newest additions to our team, Irfan's combination of education, creativity and experience make him invaluable. In his off-time, Irfan is a dedicated and somewhat fanatic fan of cricket.
His biggest regret was not being a professional Cricketer as a teenager.
